Play: If you’re into beer and hiking, it’s hard not to fall in love with Boulder, where 90 percent of the trails allow dogs. Try the 3.3-mile Flatirons Vista loop or experience mini Moab along the Royal Arch Trail. If you have the time, climb up 3,100 feet on the 8.5-mile South Boulder Peak trail, which is less congested than the two other “Guardians of the Flatirons” and leads to the highest summit in Boulder’s foothills.
Stay: Start your morning with a hike along the beautiful Boulder Creek path that stretches from the back door of The Boulder Creek Quality Inn to Boulder Canyon. In addition to its convenient location, the hotel (from $128/night, plus a $20 pet fee) offers an indoor pool, free hot breakfast, complimentary bikes, and is a 10-minute drive to the three-acre Valmont Dog Park.Back to top
