Sandy Pines Campground, located at Goose Rocks Beach, offers traditional campsites so the experience feels a bit more rugged. (Though, yes, they still include a water hookup and a fire pit.) But their camping carriages will appeal to those who dig tiny retreats. Each 12 x 16 carriage is uniquely designed and comes with a massive king-sized bed and plush outdoor seating. Guests can also rent a more rugged “hideaway hut,” which is a smaller A-frame style: half canvas, half wood setup. There, you’ll still find a full-sized bed, solar lighting, and a firepit; you just have the added benefit of feeling closer to nature. Rates vary but start at $178 per night.
