Maine Lobster Festival
Maine’s claim to the world’s best lobster is not disputed – at least not by anyone with credibility. If you’re more interested in consuming butter and reddish meat than waiting for your seafood to be ruined by a fancy saucier, then head to Rockland for the Maine Lobster Festival.
Held from July 31st through August 4th, the Lobster Festival is a full-fledged to-do revolving entirely around the state’s most beloved crustacean. In addition to gorging on a small percentage of the 20,000 pounds of lobster served during the event, attendees can watch a wide range of musical performances, a parade, and crate races. Consider it.
More information: Admission to the first day of the festival is $5 for adults, and $2 for children. August 1–3 is $8 for adults, while the closing day is Family Fun Day, and is free to all attendees.
