7. The British Virgin Islands
Nobody was sure if and when the British Virgin Islands would bounce back after the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma in 2017. To make matters worse, Hurricanes Jose and Maria only further damanged in the BVIs. Thankfully, the beloved Caribbean destination is on the mend. The tourism board has been hard at work spreading the news that they’re officially back on their feet and ready to welcome visitors once again to their idyllic slice of paradise. The volcanic archipelago is comprised of four main islands and numerous smaller islets and keys, which serve as an aquatic haven for boaters, divers, surfers, and all other water-loving travelers. The Yacht Week is returning to BVIs with dedicated outings in January and March. The fleet of 25 yachts will bring adventure-seekers on a thrilling itinerary filled with adventures like windsurfing on Anegada; mountain biking along cerulean coasts; scuba diving through pristine caves; and plenty of sunset beach parties to dance the night away. Tourism to this region in particular is more important than ever as the destination continues to rebuild.
