Fort Collins, Colorado
Where you find mountains, you’ll find hiking, cycling, and climbing. Start your day bouldering at Horsetooth Reservoir, and once your forearms are gassed, drive 15 minutes south and jump on the Blue Sky trail for 15 miles of smooth, flowy singletrack that slice through the Rockies. (If you need a bike, grab one with full suspension at New World Sports, starting at $45.) And hey—if you’re feeling ambitious, you can do all of this after waking up before dawn, driving 50 miles west of town, and hiking in four miles from the Long’s Peak Trailhead to watch the sunrise at Peacock Pool. The pristine lake is 11,360 feet above sea level. Regardless of how you plan the day, you’ll want to end strong at New Belgium, Odell’s, or one of the other 20 breweries in Fort Collins.
