The John Muir Trail features countless waterfalls, and most photographers will have to resist capturing every single one of them—there just isn't enough time. When hiking the trail, waterfalls are also an important source of water, which is very heavy and difficult to carry. Most hikers use filtration systems such as a SteriPen or special tablets to kill any viruses and bacteria in the water. Photo by Travis Burke 10 / 29
